In this video, you’ll see Congressman Jimmy Panetta’s keynote address at Microgrid California: Keeping the Power Flowing During Grid Disruption. A supporter of clean energy, Panetta represents California’s 20th Congressional District, which includes Monterey and San Benito counties, as well as other parts of the central coast. Panetta introduced a bill (H.R. 2482) into the US House of Representatives that’s designed to increase the deployment of microgrids in California and beyond by making them more affordable. The bill is called the Making Imperiled Communities Resistant to Outages with Generation that is Resilient, Islandable and Distributed Act, or MICROGRID Act. Panetta discusses how microgrids can improve reliability and resiliency during times of crisis and beyond.

Held in October of 2021, the editors at Microgrid Knowledge gathered microgrid leaders for a day of interactive sessions designed to help innovators, developers, utilities, and technology and engineering firms exploring the microgrid space.

The event also included an interactive leadership session where panelists and audience members discussed takeaways and questions from the event.
